Jeleśnia and immediate surroundings

The village lies in Zywiec Valley, at the foot of the highest peaks of the Beskidy Mountains - CONDUCTOR (1557 m), Babia Mountain (1727 m), Romanki (1366 m) and Rysianki (1230 m).
It covers the lies of the Cross, Korbielowa, Crosswords, Mutnego, Pewli Great, Sopotnia Great and Small. Beautifully situated at the foot of Pilsko, Babia Gora, Romanki and Rysianki; south borders with Slovakia. The villages of the municipality are former Wallachian settlements. Amber Trail, leading by Jeleśnia, built in the seventeenth century, a forester, now as an inn called "The Old Tavern". this is the place to cultivate culinary traditions and folklore.
Jeleśni to attract top - rich in good ski runs and hiking trails. Excellent conditions for winter sports prevail from December to the end of April.


During the summer
To this day there is a mini backwoods former Carpathian Forest, protected by three reserves: at Pilsko, with alpine vegetation on the slopes Hall Rysianki, with an old tree population of 190 to 230 years and romance, where it grows magnificent forest with examples of more than 200 summer spruces.
In addition to the old stand, 53% of the commune is covered by forests, mostly spruce with an admixture of fir and beech, and the upper parts of Pilska with large habitats pine.
Vast forests, which are a paradise for mushroom pickers and amateurs undergrowth, 100-here-kilometer route for mountain bikes, interesting rock formations, vegetation Alpine, the largest in the Beskidy Mountains waterfall in Sopotnia Great, numerous hiking and riding school are just some of the attractions that await tourists coming here in the summer. At a distance of 15 km from the border crossing in Korbielów, on Orava (Slovakia) amateur sailing, canoeing and windsurfing can enjoy water sports.


In winter
The municipality is also ideal for winter sports. 35 km of ski trails, varying in degree of difficulty and 15 ski lifts are waiting for lovers of "white madness". It is especially recommended ski resort "Pilsko", where skiers were completed 23 km of slopes, 8 lifts, buffets, bars, ski-services, parking, sports equipment rentals and an indoor swimming pool and sauna.
